Annelies Monseré has been active in Ghent's experimental music scene for over two decades, slowly refining her approach to folk and experimental music. She moved from sparse works for piano and voice to increasingly complex arrangements of instrumentation. Her atmospheric music contains the immediacy and emotiveness of folk music, imbued with a sense of adventurous experimentalism and bred with the restraint and elegance of minimalism. 'Like a mix between Broadcast, Nico and Tudor court music... a baroque-folk cousin to Broadcast’s ‘Tender Buttons.’ (Boomkat)

While being active as solo artist since the early 2000's, Monseré tapped into a whole new audience with here 2023 album 'Mares'. On this album her distinct airy vocals are set on confident dirges that straddle folk music, experimental minimalism, pulsing electronics and dreamlike drones. Influences range from early music such as baroque, church music and european folk traditions but are grounded in the now with her precarious voice, poetic lyrics and contemporary arrangements with layers of acoustic and electronic sounds. Among the instruments that are being used are keyboard, drum computer, accordian, indian harmonium, bass guitar and melodica.

A tour tape with Goldscammer was released in december 2024. In this newfound collaboration they are exploring Monseré's back catalogue. The sparse compositions allowed Goldscammer’s lyricism to push them into new directions, prompting more complex arrangements as well as a fresh approach to the voice and musical textures.

Support Marijn Filius is a fingerpicking guitarist born on the muddy flatlands of the Dutch South-western delta. Deeply inspired by all kinds of folk, drone and experimental music Marijn Filius weaves threads of raw guitar improvisation into primitive textures that feel both ancient and exploratory. Minimal motifs, repetition and subtle variations create a hypnotic sonic tapestry.
